BUCHAREST CITY BREAK – 2 DAYS TRIP DEPARTING FROM THE ROMANIAN CAPITAL
Peles Castle
Day 1. Bucharest – Sinaia – Bran – Brasov
Departure to Sinaia, where we visit Peles Castle, considered by many people one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, an architectural masterpiece, in an eclectic style, which was ordered in the XIXth century, by the first king of Romania – Carol I. He was a member of the German family Hohenzollern de Sigmaringen. Its classical lines remind us of the German Renaissance palaces, which combine high towers, balconies, galleries and columns to form a building with the most varied European architectural elements. It is surrounded by gardens and several stone sculptures. Some of them were made by Romanelli.
We also visit Sinaia Monastery. It was built in 1696 during the rule of Mihail Cantacuzino, and it is based on the model of Santa Catalina de Sinai.
We continue to Bran, to visit Dracula’s Castle from the XIVth century, which houses an interesting museum of history and feudal art.

Brasov
We cross the Southern Carpathians to Brasov, one of the most visited cities in Romania, an ancient center at the border of the three historical provinces: Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania. Lunch is served at the famous restaurant “Sura Dacilor” (en: The Dacians’ Barn) where customers can eat game (bear, wild boar and deer). A short visit of the city, including the Council Square (ro: Piaţa Sfatului) and the Black Church (ro: Biserica Neagră) (XIV – XV century). Accommodation in Brasov at 4* or 5* hotel.
Day 2: Brasov – Sighisoara – Bucharest
Breakfast. Departure to Sighişoara, the only inhabited medieval citadel from Europe, UNESCO heritage, where Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), the Ruler of Wallachia was born. He was the inspiration for the character in Bram Stocker’s novel, Dracula. Here, we visit the Clock Tower, the Medieval Weapons Hall, the Torture Chamber, and the house Dracula was born in. Return to Bucharest.
